The SH79F082 has a 12-bit PWM module, which can provide the pulse width modulation waveform with the period and the

duty being controlled individually by corresponding register. It provides 2 independent channels. Each channel can provide 2

PWM outputs.

PWM module also provides 3 interrupts. They share the same entrance vector address while have different control bits and

flags. This makes it possible to change period or duty in every PWM period.

1 PWM Module Enable Register

PWM waveform output will be generated only when PWMEN bit and PWMxOE bit are both set to 1. If PWMEN is set but

PWMOE is clear to 0, PWM module act as a timer with compare function, PWM1/2/11/21 used as general purpose I/O; if

PWMEN is clear to 0 but PWMOE is set to 1, PWM pin will always output a inactive level.

PWM output will be switched to I/O state at the same time when the PWMOEx is clear to 0, so it is recommended to set I/O

as output state and output an inactive level in the PWM initial program.
