The CKSEL0 Fuse together with the SUT1..0 Fuses select the start-up times as shown in Table

7-3.

Notes: 1. These options should only be used if frequency stability at start-up is not important for the

application. These options are not suitable for crystals.

2. These options are intended to be used with ceramic resonators and will ensure frequency sta-

bility at start-up.

7.2.3.2

External Clock

To drive the device from an external clock source, XTAL1 should be driven as shown in Figure

7-3. To run the device on an external clock, the CKSEL Fuses must be programmed to “0000”.

When this clock source is selected, start-up times are determined by the SUT Fuses as shown in

Table 7-4.
