LVD Interrupt

TheLowVoltageDetectorInterruptiscontainedwithintheMulti-functionInterrupt.AnLVD

InterruptrequestwilltakeplacewhentheLVDInterruptrequestflag,LVDF,isset,whichoccurs

whentheLowVoltageDetectorfunctiondetectsalowpowersupplyvoltage.Toallowtheprogram

tobranchtoitsrespectiveinterruptvectoraddress,theglobalinterruptenablebit,EMI,LowVoltage

Interruptenablebit,LVDE,andassociatedMulti-functioninterruptenablebit,mustfirstbeset.

Whentheinterruptisenabled,thestackisnotfullandalowvoltageconditionoccurs,asubroutine

calltotheMulti-functionInterruptvector,willtakeplace.WhentheLowVoltageInterruptis

serviced,theEMIbitwillbeautomaticallyclearedtodisableotherinterrupts,howeveronlythe

Multi-functioninterruptrequestflagwillbealsoautomaticallycleared.AstheLVDFflagwillnotbe

automaticallycleared,ithastobeclearedbytheapplicationprogram.

Interrupt Wake-up Function

Eachoftheinterruptfunctionshasthecapabilityofwakingupthemicrocontrollerwheninthe

SLEEPorIDLEMode.Awake-upisgeneratedwhenaninterruptrequestflagchangesfromlow

tohighandisindependentofwhethertheinterruptisenabledornot.Therefore,eventhough

thisdeviceareintheSLEEPorIDLEModeanditssystemoscillatorstopped,situationssuchas

externaledgetransitionsontheexternalinterruptpins,alowpowersupplyvoltageorcomparator

inputchangemaycausetheirrespectiveinterruptflagtobesethighandconsequentlygenerate

aninterrupt.Caremustthereforebetakenifspuriouswake-upsituationsaretobeavoided.Ifan

interruptwake-upfunctionistobedisabledthenthecorrespondinginterruptrequestflagshouldbe

sethighbeforethedeviceenterstheSLEEPorIDLEMode.Theinterruptenablebitshavenoeffect

ontheinterruptwake-upfunction.

Programming Considerations

Bydisablingtherelevantinterruptenablebits,arequestedinterruptcanbepreventedfrombeing

serviced,however,onceaninterruptrequestflagisset,itwillremaininthisconditioninthe

interruptregisteruntilthecorrespondinginterruptisservicedoruntiltherequestflagisclearedby

theapplicationprogram.

WhereacertaininterruptiscontainedwithinaMulti-functioninterrupt,thenwhentheinterrupt

serviceroutineisexecuted,asonlytheMulti-functioninterruptrequestflags,HALLFand

MF1F~MF8F,willbeautomaticallycleared,theindividualrequestflagforthefunctionneedstobe

clearedbytheapplicationprogram.

Itisrecommendedthatprogramsdonotusethe“CALL”instructionwithintheinterruptservice

subroutine.Interruptsoftenoccurinanunpredictablemannerorneedtobeservicedimmediately.

Ifonlyonestackisleftandtheinterruptisnotwellcontrolled,theoriginalcontrolsequencewillbe

damagedonceaCALLsubroutineisexecutedintheinterruptsubroutine.

EveryinterrupthasthecapabilityofwakingupthemicrocontrollerwhenitisintheSLEEPorIDLE

Mode,thewakeupbeinggeneratedwhentheinterruptrequestflagchangesfromlowtohigh.Ifitis

requiredtopreventacertaininterruptfromwakingupthemicrocontrollerthenitsrespectiverequest

flagshouldbefirstsethighbeforeenterSLEEPorIDLEMode.

AsonlytheProgramCounterispushedontothestack,thenwhentheinterruptisserviced,ifthe

contentsoftheaccumulator,statusregisterorotherregistersarealteredbytheinterruptservice

program,theircontentsshouldbesavedtothememoryatthebeginningoftheinterruptservice
