48 / 175 page  Rev. 1.00 48 De�e��e� 01� �01� Rev. 1.00 49 De�e��e� 01� �01� HT66F019 A/D Flash MCU with EEPROM HT66F019 A/D Flash MCU with EEPROM Standby Current Considerations AsthemainreasonforenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEModeistokeepthecurrentconsumptionofthe devicetoaslowavalueaspossible,perhapsonlyintheorderofseveralmicro-ampsexceptinthe IDLE1Mode,thereareotherconsiderationswhichmustalsobetakenintoaccountbythecircuit designerifthepowerconsumptionistobeminimised.SpecialattentionmustbemadetotheI/Opins onthedevice.Allhigh-impedanceinputpinsmustbeconnectedtoeitherafixedhighorlowlevelas anyfloatinginputpinscouldcreateinternaloscillationsandresultinincreasedcurrentconsumption. Thisalsoappliestothedevicewhichhasdifferentpackagetypes,astheremaybeunbonbedpins. Thesemusteitherbesetupasoutputsorifsetupasinputsmusthavepull-highresistorsconnected. Caremustalsobetakenwiththeloads,whichareconnectedtoI/Opins,whicharesetupasoutputs. Theseshouldbeplacedinaconditioninwhichminimumcurrentisdrawnorconnectedonlyto externalcircuitsthatdonotdrawcurrent,suchasotherCMOSinputs.Alsonotethatadditional standbycurrentwillalsoberequirediftheconfigurationoptionshaveenabledtheLXTorLIRC oscillator. IntheIDLE1Modethesystemoscillatorison,ifthesystemoscillatorisfromthehighspeed oscillator,theadditionalstandbycurrentwillalsobeperhapsintheorderofseveralhundredmicro- amps. Wake-up TominimisepowerconsumptionthedevicecanentertheSLEEPoranyIDLEMode,wherethe CPUwillbeswitchedoff.However,whenthedeviceiswokenupagain,itwilltakeaconsiderable timefortheoriginalsystemoscillatortorestart,stabliseandallownormaloperationtoresume. AfterthesystementerstheSLEEPorIDLEMode,itcanbewokenupfromoneofvarioussources listedasfollows: • AnexternalfallingedgeonPortA • Asysteminterrupt • AWDToverflow IfthedeviceiswokenupbyaWDToverflow,aWatchdogTimerresetwillbeinitiated.ThePDF flagisclearedbyasystempower-uporexecutingtheclearWatchdogTimerinstructionsandisset whenexecutingthe"HALT"instruction.TheTOflagissetifaWDTtime-outoccurs,andcauses awake-upthatonlyresetstheProgramCounterandStackPointer,theotherflagsremainintheir originalstatus. EachpinonPortAcanbesetupusingthePAWUregistertopermitanegativetransitiononthepin towakeupthesystem.WhenaPortApinwake-upoccurs,theprogramwillresumeexecutionat theinstructionfollowingthe"HALT"instruction.Ifthesystemiswokenupbyaninterrupt,then twopossiblesituationsmayoccur.Thefirstiswheretherelatedinterruptisdisabledortheinterrupt isenabledbutthestackisfull,inwhichcasetheprogramwillresumeexecutionattheinstruction followingthe"HALT"instruction.Inthissituation,theinterruptwhichwokeupthedevicewillnot beimmediatelyserviced,butwillratherbeservicedlaterwhentherelatedinterruptisfinallyenabled orwhenastacklevelbecomesfree.Theothersituationiswheretherelatedinterruptisenabledand thestackisnotfull,inwhichcasetheregularinterruptresponsetakesplace.Ifaninterruptrequest flagissethighbeforeenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEMode,thewake-upfunctionoftherelated interruptwillbedisabled. |
