Reading the results

The software driver provides turnkey functions to read output results after the measurement:

Signal rate

•

Ranging distance

•

Min. and max. distances where an object is located

•

Ambient light level

•

Measurement status

Power sequence

There are two options available for device power-up and boot sequence.

Note:

In all cases, XSHUT is raised only when AVDD is tied on.

Option 1

The XSHUT pin is connected and controlled from the host.

This option optimizes power consumption. The device can be completely powered off when not used, and then

woken up through the host (using the XSHUT pin).

Hardware standby (HW STANDBY) mode is the period when AVDD is present and XSHUT is low.

tBOOT is 1.2 ms maximum.

Option 2

The host does not control the XSHUT pin. This pin is tied to AVDD through the pull-up resistor.

When the XSHUT pin is not controlled, the power-up sequence is presented in the following figure. In this case,

the device goes automatically to software standby (SW STANDBY) after firmware boot (FW BOOT), without

entering HW STANDBY.
