General Description

ThedeviceisaFlashMemoryA/Dtype8-bithighperformanceRISCarchitecturemicrocontroller,

designedforapplicationswhichrequireanLCDinterface.OfferinguserstheconvenienceofFlash

Memorymulti-programmingfeatures,thedevicealsoincludesawiderangeoffunctionsand

features.OthermemoryincludesanareaofRAMDataMemoryaswellasanareaoftrueEEPROM

memoryforstorageofnon-volatiledatasuchasserialnumbers,calibrationdataetc.

Analogfeaturesincludeamulti-channel12-bitA/Dconverter.Multipleandextremelyflexible

TimerModulesprovidetiming,pulsegeneration,captureinput,comparematchoutputandPWM

generationfunctions.Communicationwiththeoutsideworldiscateredforbyincludingfully

integratedSPI,I2CandUARTinterfacefunctions,thethreepopularinterfaceswhichprovide

designerswithameansofeasycommunicationwithexternalperipheralhardware.Protective

featuressuchasaninternalWatchdogTimer,LowVoltageResetandLowVoltageDetectorcoupled

withexcellentnoiseimmunityandESDprotectionensurethatreliableoperationismaintainedin

hostileelectricalenvironments.Theexternalinterruptcanbetriggeredwithfallingedgesorboth

fallingandrisingedges.

Afullchoiceofexternal,internalhighandlowoscillatorsisprovidedincludingtwofullyintegrated

systemoscillatorswhichrequirenoexternalcomponentsfortheirimplementation.Theabilityto

operateandswitchdynamicallybetweenarangeofoperatingmodesusingdifferentclocksources

givesuserstheabilitytooptimisetheconflictingdemandsofhighmicrocontrollerperformanceand

lowpowerconsumption.

TheinclusionofflexibleI/Oprogrammingfeaturesalongwithmanyotherfeaturesensurethatthe

devicewillfindspecificexcellentuseinawiderangeofapplicationpossibilitiessuchaselectronic

metering,environmentalmonitoring,handheldinstruments,householdappliances,electronically

controlledtools,motordrivinginadditiontomanyothers.
