Conclusions
From this example, we see that calculating EDEMAG with RL = 0 Ω can lead to a huge
overestimation of the dissipated energy in the low-side and high-side drivers, especially at
high VBAT. Therefore, it is more accurate to take into account the impact of load resistance
RL (and the parallel resistor RP, if any) on the demagnetization energy.
EDEMAG increases with VBAT at a faster rate than the quadratic function of VBAT. Therefore,
the developer must be careful about the device compatibility to the considered load, if the
outputs drive inductive loads at high battery voltages.
