5.18 Coma Mode

Coma mode is designed to hold the PHY in a suspended state until system initialization is complete. When enabled by

driving the

COMA_MODE pin high, all the errors, alarms, link up/down notifications, etc. are suppressed until COMA_-

MODE is driven low. This is useful in designs with multiple PHYs, as it allows all errors to be suppressed until the entire

board is configured. Coma mode operates as per Table 5-11.
