9.3 System Examples
9.3.1 Simple 24-V Power Supply Path Protection
With the TPS1663x, a simple 24-V power supply path protection can be realized using a minimum of three
external components as shown in the schematic diagram in Figure 17. The external components required are: a
R(ILIM) resistor to program the current limit, C(IN) and C(OUT) capacitors.

Protection features with this configuration include:
40 V (maximum) over voltage clamp output
Inrush current control with 24V/240 µs output voltage slew rate
Accurate current limiting with Auto-Retry
10 Power Supply Recommendations
The TPS1663x eFuse is designed for the supply voltage range of 4.5 V
≤ VIN ≤ 60 V. If the input supply is
located more than a few inches from the device, an input ceramic bypass capacitor higher than 0.1 μF is
recommended. Power supply must be rated higher than the current limit set to avoid voltage droops during
overcurrent and short circuit conditions.
