TheavailabilityofEEPROMstorageallowsinformationsuchasproductidentificationnumbers, calibrationvalues,specificuserdata,systemsetupdataorotherproductinformationtobestored directlywithintheproductmicrocontroller.TheprocessofreadingandwritingdatatotheEEPROM memoryhasbeenreducedtoaverytrivialaffair. EEPROM Data Memory Structure TheEEPROMDataMemorycapacityvariesfrom32×8to64×8bits,accordingtothedevice selected.UnliketheProgramMemoryandRAMDataMemory,theEEPROMDataMemoryis notdirectlymappedandisthereforenotdirectlyaccessibleinthesamewayastheothertypesof memory.ReadandWriteoperationstotheEEPROMarecarriedoutinsinglebyteoperationsusing twoaddressregistersandonedataregisterinBank0andasinglecontrolregisterinBank1.
