A/D Overview Thisdevicecontainsahighaccuracymulti-channel20-bitdelta-sigmaanalog-to-digital(ΔΣA/D) converterwhichcandirectlyinterfacetoexternalanalogsignals,suchasthatfromsensorsorother controlsignalsandconvertthesesignalsdirectlyintoa20-bitdigitalvalue.Inaddition,thePGA gaincontrol,ADCgaincontrolandADCreferencegaincontroldeterminetheamplificationgainfor ADCinputsignal.Thedesignercanselectthebestgaincombinationforthedesiredamplification appliedtotheinputsignal.ThefollowingblockdiagramillustratestheADCbasicoperational function.TheADCinputchannelcanbearrangedastwodifferentialinputchannels.Theinput signalcanbeamplifiedbyPGAbeforeenteringthe20-bitdelta-sigmaADC.TheΔΣADCmodulator willoutputonebitconverteddatatoSINCfilterwhichcantransformtheconvertedone-bitdata to20bitsandstorethemintothespecificdataregisters.Additionally,thisdevicealsoprovidesa temperaturesensortocompensatetheA/Dconverterdeviationcausedbythetemperature.Withhigh accuracyandperformance,thisdeviceisverysuitableforScalerelatedproducts.
