1. Memory Organization & General Operations
️· Capacity: 128 Mbit (16MB)
️· Quad Mode: Allows faster read operations using four I/O pins. Enabled by setting the `QE` bit in the Status Register (S9).
️· Command Set: Supports standard Flash memory commands like Read, Write, Erase, and Status Register operations.
️· Fast Read: Quad mode is available.
️· Suspending/Resuming: Supports Program/Erase Suspend/Resume to allow other operations.
2. Command Modes & Features
️· Write in Progress (WIP): Indicates whether a program, erase, or status register write is currently in progress.
️· Write Enable (WEL): Controls the ability to write to the status register or program/erase data.
️· Program/Erase Suspend (75H): Suspending program or erase operations. Sets `SUS1` bit in status register to '1'.
️· Program/Erase Resume (7AH): Resuming program or erase operations. Clears both `SUS1` and `SUS2` bits.
3. Status Register Details (S15-S0)
️· SUS1 (S15): Set by Program Suspend.
️· CMP (S14): Used with Block Protect bits (BP4-BP0) for defining protection areas.
️· LB3, LB2, LB1 (S13-S11): One-Time Programmable bits for controlling access to Security Registers. Once set to '1', those registers become read-only.
️· SRP1, SRP0 (S10-S9): Control the write protection method:
- Software Protection (0, 0): Normal operation.
- Hardware Protection (0, 1): Protected by WP# pin.
- Hardware Unprotected (0, 1, WP#=1): Writable.
- Power Supply Lock-Down (1, 0): Protected until power cycle.
- One-Time Programmable (1, 1): Permanently protected.
️· QE (S9): Quad Enable bit. (0 = default, WP# and HOLD# enable)
️· WEL (S1): Write Enable Latch.
️· WIP (S0): Write in Progress.
4. Protection Mechanisms
️· Block Protect (BP4-BP0): Non-volatile bits defining protected areas. Combined with `CMP` for more flexible protection.
️· Hardware Protection: Controlled by external WP# (Write Protect) pin.
️· Software Protection: controlled by SRP1 and SRP0 bits.
️· One-Time Programmable (OTP) Protection: Permanent protection of the Status Register, controlled by the `LB3`, `LB2`, `LB1` bits.
️· Security Registers: Protected by OTP bits.
